A letter from the founders
Since ADORNO launched its first country collections back in 2017, we have worked very hard to realize our mission to empower defining independent designers and studios, and the design communities that they are part of.
Over the last 6 years, the online business of the design industry has moved rapidly and we are very pleased with our accomplishments in supporting ADORNO members with digital promotion, editorial, sales, shipping, and exhibitions.
Assisting the members of ADORNO in these activities is and will continue to be our mission. But ADORNO is not a traditional gallery. We do not require exclusivity, and in many cases, sales take place directly between designers and clients as a result of ADORNO’s activities. We recognize this as a natural part of the market structure and therefore, we want to make ADORNO more attractive to use for our exclusive selection of members – not only as a sales platform, but also as a fine-tuned promotional media tool.
That’s why we have decided to introduce a paid membership with a monthly fee and a reduced commission rate, and simultaneously, increase our sales commission for non-paying members. We have been preparing for this transition for more than a year now and we can assure you that the concept has been discussed, tested and quality-assured to prove that we can deliver on our promises. This is also why we hope to have your support when we enter this new stage of ADORNO.
These changes will consolidate the ADORNO Team and allow us to provide better services for a select group of designers that we truly believe in – we would love to count you as one of them. As a result, we will ramp up our communication with you, making sure you use ADORNO as your back-office of agents, editors, shippers and marketers. We want to put your practice in the right league, and promote your work to an ever-growing global audience and client base through a set of clearly defined services described on this page.
We have come a long way together, and we truly hope you will decide to continue your journey with us. With our consolidated team, our new business model, and refined set-up, we are absolutely certain we can improve the amount of our bespoke promotion and increase sales both on- and off the ADORNO platform.
