Emma Deegan is a self-taught emerging artist based in New York City. Having completed a BA in Sociocultural Anthropology from Boston University, much of her work is informed by an inward inquisition into the chaos of being human. Her work explores entropy, not as the antithesis of order, but as the essence of emotion. Using intuitive movements, colors, and formations, her artistic process is a convergence of self and collective exploration. Through her paintings, Emma seeks to use color and form to evoke emotions and responses in both the artist and the viewers that connect one another to greater shared experiences. Through abstraction, she creates her paintings with no conception of their final product. Her work demonstrates that intuitive abstraction is not haphazard, but rather attuned to the raw feelings brought up by organic forms and interactions with contrasts of darkness and light.
In the highlands of the Andes, a group of women alpaca herders and artisans are leading the way for a sustainable and inclusive future. In collaboration with ADORNO and IED, Las Manuelas is presenting their most ambitious textile collection yet, the "Art Series", designed by highly acclaimed international artists.
