The plates have a diameter of 38 centimeters. The plates are a work of art and can be mounted to the wall. The plates are characterized by a high round base. All plates are similar to the photos but will never be exactly the same, the colours and graphics are different for each plate. Therefore, every PLATE is unique.

PLATE is a reflection of my travels to Northern Africa.

Profile Photo
Geke Lensink
Geke Lensink is a Dutch furniture and ceramics designer, whose minimalist, bold aesthetic celebrates a matter-of-fact functionality. She is motivated by the thought of combining the capabilities of today’s technology with a return to the core worth of a product. In this increasingly complex world, Lensink has a simplified approach to the design and production process, favoring pared-back shapes in innovative materials. It exudes a sense of pure functionality over complicated conceptualization. All her recent work is part of the project named souvenir The designs of the souvenir collection are reflections of our global society in which cultures increasingly merge. Geke Lensink designed minimalistic stools and vases with geometrical patterns, decorative plates and wooden benches that despite the differences in material, shape and colour form a close-knit family. Lensink’s designs are easily recognizable for their broad wooden frames and graphic silhouettes. Chairs and stools are often accented with flowing geometric lines, offering a visual resting place
as much as a physical one. Indeed, Lensink’s pieces adhere to a strict minimalist code but it is this apparent simplicity that makes her work stand out. The designer’s work is regularly presented at the Salone del Mobile in Milan, as well as numerous exhibitions and events in the Netherlands, London, Stuttgart, Paris, and Cologne. Her work will be part of the upcoming exhibition ‘a chair and you’ by collector Thierry Barbier-Mueller and the new book ‘Woman Made: Great Women Designers’ published by Phaidon.
