Description
Órbita is a table piece that was created to be filled or remain empty. It is both delicate and strong; both elemental and complex. It is traditional and contemporary at the same time -a series of dualities, of opposing poles that repel and attract each other and form an orbit in which the fruit gravitates.
The piece emerged from a series of formal exercises that we wished to carry over into a variety of traditional techniques: stone and wood carving, glass and ceramic modeling, and copper and brass hammering.
Quality
Each piece is individually forged by hand, meaning that minor variations in design, color or shape are not considered defects.
Social Responsibility
The fabrication of these pieces consists of a chain of artisanal processes that provide fairly-compensated job opportunities to several families. The acquisition of handmade pieces favors the preservation of traditions that are essential to maintaining strong cultural identities.
Care
Remove dust regularly with a dry cloth. If necessary, clean with mild liquid soap and water, using a soft sponge.
Vases and trays may be filled with water, but oxidation or mineralization stains may occur after prolonged contact. We recommend changing the water frequently and rinsing well before refilling.
The finishes highlight the different states of copper. In order to keep the pieces in good condition, we recommend not using chemical or abrasive products on them. Heat exposure may permanently damage the finish on the pieces.
