This funky, sculptural glass piece is part of the sculptural collection of Hollow Forms titled “On Land and On Sea”, designed and produced in Palestine in collaboration with local expert craftsmen that have developed a family glassblowing business for generations.
The playful form takes inspiration from the idea of strange objects in contemporary culture as well as the Palestinian landscape. In this form, the cactus plant is used as a formal inspiration for the spiky and feisty vessel. Although seemingly thorny, this vessel evokes a very sensual and feminine figure.
The form is designed using 3D architecture software that was used to communicate the design with the glassblowers.
