Description
The project is an investigation into the subtle techniques used in mould making, aiming to extend its active life. This piece is from the second stage of this investigation; the series Mould | experiments, which centres up on the relationship between the mould and the cast object. The experiment aimed to find a way to explore the possibility of using a single mould to produce unique objects. By using three shapes, square, triangle and circle that had all been cut in half, and layering them in a new way every time a new piece was cast resulted in all unique objects. The moulds are then hand painted and gain a new purpose as frames for mirrors. (the mirror has a string on the back for wall hanging.)
