Description

A simple design made by raw oak joined with a complex strcture, that offer a real contrast between both.
This unique piece with specific proportions result of a drawing’s work on wood curves, made by curving wood with self-production approach. The aim of the research was to find a way to make easier the wood to curve, and to find a collection which could express this work.
Few productions have been producted during this time, all of them were unique piece, really typical of the designer’s spirit at this time.

Jules Levasseur
After a STI Bac Arts Appliqués, I went to ESAD de Reims for 5 years. This few years were very important. During 3 years I produced a lot, testing different materials, and I focused my master on the designer’s responsibility and how crafts can evolve, by design process. I used to developed 3 projects in partnership with a tile producer, a blacksmith and an industrial material, wire mesh tray, that lead me to work with GEWISS France, the French producer. Since 2013, I developed different projects helping company to make their know-how evolved.
