I saw my first Design exhibition when I was 5 years old. Later I found the world of existing objects overwhelming : Design is dead ... I agreed that statement of Philip Starck ... and I decided not to adjust one object on this world if it was not based, by content and appearance and construction method on the idea to make a healthier world and a world with more respect for other beings than humans on this globe. Therefore I combined my professions: sculptor, designer and curator of crafts in a personal way. The beauty in my work results from a research to reveal the soul of the matter: wood in most of the cases. Local, waste wood more exactly . Also wood that can stand the climate change. Wood is a renewable energy ... Also I make the ecofootprint to make the pieces very very low .... it is possible to make them with handtools like saw, lathe, chisel .... to show that also in the future, in difficult times we can make avantgarde and respect the climate at the same time. Sculptors reveal a form, show often honest the nature of their material and let it speak as well .... and adjust content.... by the title, by the explanation ... and that is what I am doing as well: I hope that users will see my objects as 'beings' ... to live with., in mutual respect. This objects are objects who will serve you as long as you do not use them thoughtless. Anyway ... the way I made them is also in respect for the fact that wood never stops moving: never stops being alive ... it cracks, distortions are a part of the process : it is a modern form of wabi sabi.
