Description

Designed by Linde Freya at her studio Destroyers/Builders, the “Archetyping” daybed references a classical daybed with its carved surface and archetypal form. The color of the textile cushion and the aubergine-pigmented chipwood speak to one another in a modern take on “old-world charm.” This piece embodies a compelling tension between hard and soft, new and old, innovation and tradition, design and craft.

About Linde Freya Tangelder Visit Showroom →

Product and material designer Linde Freya Tangelder (6-10-1987) is born in The Netherlands, and raised with Brazilian-Dutch background. By this, her interest for materiality and wealth in cultural objects became alive. After her study at the Design Academy Eindhoven and work experiences at the Campana Brothers in São Paulo and Studio Unfold in Antwerp, she started her designstudio Destroyers/Builders in 2015. With her focus on materiality and sensibility she strives for sensory relevance and cultural value in detail and in bigger scale. She opens the traditional usage and knows how to bring daily objects closer to our senses. The studio takes on projects that range from commissions from cultural institutions to private projects, and extends across the realms of both product and interior design. In all of its work, whether residential or cultural, the studio focuses on tactility and materiality, engaging and exploring the sensory way humans process the world.
