Description

The De Vil Legacy is a classical hand and machine-made desk.
I modernized it through very flagrant inspirations one of which is Cruella De Vil from the movie Dalmatians.
I hand-painted it with acrylic and varnished it with boat varnish (i.e. one that survives harsh conditions).
The concept of it is to make more of a camouflaged entity rather than a furniture piece; which is why there is no separation between any of the surface, legs, or drawers.
This camouflage adds more to the animal print vibe that I personally fancy and always find luxurious.

I grew up only to realise that art was the only thing I ever wanted to practice. I shared that thought with my mother, and I told her mark my words. It is true that all the free time I had, I spent on creating. Becoming more and more integrated in the scene, I realised that I should work on one thing from beginning to end, before I move to the other. This is where I started moving project by project. I did my short film in 2016 which was an outstanding experience where I had the honour to create a reality, rather than merely live one. I later on worked on a series of illustrations that are actually currently still ongoing, and that I see displayed in a very fresh solo exhibition. My cocoexotico project was as sudden and unexpected as you may imagine. It was an experiment and a journey that surely was amazing, because it was done with so much passion. As long as I don't ever stop creating, I am good. Can't wait to see what I'm holding for myself next!
