Description

This totem-like table lamp made from standard building components reflects on the structural and cultural value of materials. It sets in contrast processed materials produced for infra-structural use within a living environment, playing with the cultural references that their disposition can trigger on the viewers memory and the perception of use and value. Iron, wood, bricks, concrete – if they are hidden behind the wall, these materials are considered cheap and purely utilitarian. However, with considerate design their value increases tenfold.
