Description

Steel frames, foam blocks and neoprene sleeves are all that makes up this chair; no bolts, nuts, screws, glue, or other traditional connection is needed.
dimensions are given by the frames, the shapes are the ones the foam blocks naturally acquire.
Neoprene sleeves knotted in the same fashion Japanese kimonos hold the foam blocks in tension within the steel frames.
This is an investigation of function and form according to the physical properties inherent in a given material.

Lucas Muñoz
Lucas has been making and producing since his early twenties. He founded eStudio enPieza! in Madrid, with David Tamame. His work there traveled the world and became part of private and public design collections (as London´s Royal Science Museum permanent founds ).Now, since 2012, works on his own from the Netherlands. Crafting pieces that take a personal look to our artificial environment. Using tools as humour and rawness, his body of work includes a wide range of typologies that span from boats and speakers to chairs and lamps. In addition to being a workshop maker, he also develops conceptual and critical work based on local and context-driven research.
