“Gravity” is a coat rack that was created from the simple act of inserting brass poles, as well as oak and hexotyc woods, into a concrete base.
The result is that the coats are suspended in the air, separated from one another, expressing the invisible power of gravity. The concrete system permits for different configurations and even varying densities of the poles, all of which can follow the specific requirements of the space. The first object in the “Gravity” series comes with brass poles and oak and hexotyc wood, inserted into a grey-concrete base. Varying colors and materials can be produced upon request.

The designer

Profile Photo
Duccio Maria Gambi
After completing his studies in Furniture Design and Interior Design, Duccio Maria Gambi founded his eponymous design studio. His interest in experimental and short-series design arose during his education, when he was introduced to the masters of the Italian radical movement. His passion for Brutalist and Modernist architecture led him to concentrate on concrete, which he has ultimately selected as his primary material. Across the board, his work investigates and explores the stress potential and the expressive possibilities of this often under-appreciated material.
