ADORNO x BEIRUT DESIGN WEEK
The annual “Independent + Emergent Designers Exhibition” at Beirut Design Week (BDW) is this year organized in partnership with ADORNO (22.-29. June).
In April, Adorno and BDW issued an open call to find the independent and emerging designers whose work best expresses the design character, broad scope and creative energy of the region – with a particular emphasis on submissions that represent a positive and life-enhancing contribution to city life.
A selection of the best pieces from the exhibition will be presented as the first city collection of Beirut on www.adorno.design to be launched on 29. June the last day of the design week.

Selected by leading design experts
The open-call judges comprised a global panel of leading designers, critics and curators, including: BDW creative director Ghassan Salameh; Joy Mardini, founder of Joy Mardini Design gallery; Ana Dominguez Siemens, the design writer and curator behind Adorno’s Madrid and Barcelona collections; and Curator and author Suzanne Trocmé and Libanese Designer Nada Debs. The panel selected 23 pieces for the exhibition.
Adorno was launched in 2017 by Copenhagen-based design lovers and tech entrepreneurs Kristian Snorre Andersen and Martin Clausen in order to give designers around the world a unique opportunity to present their work to the global market, and to provide design enthusiasts with a chance to discover and acquire unique and limited-edition work. By establishing a network of expert curators in key design destinations around the world, Adorno has been able to not only maintain rigorously controlled quality, but also to provide its community with a unique insight into the distinctive and evolving design cultures around the world.
